STARS Rescue on the Prairie

On September 15, A group of brave souls from Saskatchewan, including Megan Douglas, SVP, Chief Brand & Commercial Officer at Saskatchewan Blue Cross, were flown by helicopter to a remote location on September 15 and dropped off, only to be rescued once they each raised $50,000 for STARS.

After an early morning, lots of fog, many challenges and a long day in the field, Megan was "rescued" and returned to Saskatchewan Blue Cross. She had a rewarding and very successful day and along with her teammate, flight nurse Jenny Thorpe, raised over $81,000 at Rescue on the Prairies in support of STARS Air Ambulance!

In total, the fundraiser raised over $380,000 to support STARS' critical and often life-saving operations, essential for so many rural communities within our province, and beyond.

STARS is a life-saving charitable organization that cares for and transports critically ill and injured patients. They've flown more than 50,000 missions since their inception in 1985, and average eight missions per day across Western Canada. Many of us have a personal connection to a life they’ve helped to save.

Hope's Home Swinging with the Stars

We're looking forward to being the Presenting Sponsor of Swinging with the Stars in support of Hopes' Home! Inspired by the reality TV show Danging with the Stars, this event pairs eight of the city’s most influential people with a professional dancer. The pairs compete in front of a high energy crowd to win bragging rights for the “Crowd Favourite" and "Judge's Favourite" awards.

The heartfelt evening is dedicated to raising funds for Hope’s Home; the first medically integrated daycare in Canada. Hope’s Home provides necessary care for children living with complex medical needs, their siblings and typically developing children in the community. From Early Learning & Childcare services to our Supportive Living homes, our inclusive services provide a place for all children to grow in a loving and supportive environment.
