2023 Recap
Remaining True to Member Needs
Utility Broadband Alliance Growing While Staying Focused on Utility Initiatives
What started with a handful of utilities and technology companies in early 2019, has blossomed into an innovative and fast-growing Alliance. The utility-led Alliance, which incorporated in February 2021, grew to 110 members in 2023, while continuing steadfast to its mission to accelerate utilities’ journey toward a more secure, resilient, and future-proof grid.
2023 ROCKED!
With growth in membership, increased activity in the Working Groups, and record number of attendees at the Summit & Plugfest, UBBA delivered innovative content around solutions utilities need today and tomorrow! As more utilities are realizing the critical role of broadband networks for grid modernization, they are also seeking to achieve aggressive sustainability goals and deliver new, connected services to customers. While many utilities currently manage a multitude of siloed networks, private broadband can provide the scale and efficiency required to meet customers’ needs for an evolving, distributed digital grid.
The rapid growth of UBBA membership serves as a testament to the needs of the utility industry to focus on essential communications infrastructure. In 2024, UBBA members will continue to receive access to a multitude of resources to help accelerate their journey to wireless broadband innovation.
