President's Message

Dear CCIM Community,

I am truly grateful to be the President of New England CCIM for 2026, and want to thank the previous presidents before me (Cheri Bonawitz, CCIM; Demetrius Spaneas, CCIM; Laura O’Kane, CCIM; & Michael Chase, CCIM just to name a few) and the committee for all their hard work behind the scenes.

My focus this year will be on Sponsorship, as a former chair of the events committee I can tell you firsthand that running events is stressful, and hard work. We all do it for the love of the New England CRE community. We have been running off of the committee members sponsoring our own events, and it has been a big challenge that will be resolved so that we can provide more value to our members, and the CRE community as a whole.

We Want to Hear from You!

Tell Us What You Want from CCIM New England in 2026. As we plan our 2026 programming, education, and networking opportunities, we want to ensure our offerings reflect what our members value most. Your feedback is essential in helping us build a chapter experience that supports your professional goals and strengthens our regional CRE community.

Please take a few minutes to complete a short Chapter Interest Survey. Your responses will guide our decisions on events, topics, locations and chapter priorities. This is also your opportunity to let us know which committees you might be interested in joining so we can connect you with the right leadership contact to find out more. Take the survey!

What is a CCIM Designation?

The CCIM designation shows the CRE community that you know what you are doing. You have a level of competence that is above average in the market. It is an educational program with a transaction requirement, so designees need to both learn and apply what they have learned.

Why get a CCIM?

Personally, I got my CCIM as fast as possible once I became a CRE Agent. My thought was to show competence as a young agent and win listings over more experienced non CCIMs. It contributed to my success, and I even find later in my career it has helped me while doing deals across the nation, as there is a certain level of trust implicit in the designation.

Moreover, Site to do Business (a CCIM tool) allows members to pull ESRI data, traffic counts, crime statistics, and more, has helped me close national retail clients, to showing an industrial tenant why they should pay more in rent to lower transportation costs etc. You can look at an employer moving to an area and project how that will affect housing demand via this tool and your CCIM classes.

If you are an independent broker (or at a small firm) CCIM gives you the tools to compete with CBRE, Cushman & JLL. If you are at one of those large firms, it’s a good way to supplement your training and become known in the community.

The Ask:

We are looking for annual sponsors and event sponsors. What we provide is not only exposure to New England CCIM’s designees but also the greater New England CRE community via our mailing list and partnerships with other CRE groups. Sponsorship comes with speaking opportunities, company promotion on materials and our website, as well as custom perks like event tickets to our events. This is a brief pitch in my own words, for more information see the sponsor package on our website (https://www.newenglandccim.com/sponsors.html.)

Sponsorship dollars directly support our ability to offer high‑quality educational classes and content, provide scholarships to future designees, and host meaningful networking events throughout the year. As an educational nonprofit, many of our programs are delivered at a financial loss, so sponsor support truly makes these opportunities possible for our members and the broader CRE community.

Can we count on you in 2026?

Yours truly,

Brian Dano, CCIM
