ITS Berkeley welcomed University of California, Berkeley Chancellor Carol Christ, Secretary of the California State Transportation Agency (CalSTA) Toks Omishakin, explored Building a Foundation: 75 years of ITS contributions, ITS and the Future: Emerging Opportunities for the Next Decade, and held a student poster session, reception, brunch, and a ping pong tournament Oct. 14 and 15 2022 to kick off our 75th anniversary year, read more about the festivities.

State Senator Josh Newman (D-Fullerton) recently visited the UC Berkeley campus, where he met with ITS Berkeley leadership, Partners for Advanced Transportation Technology (PATH) Faculty Director Scott Moura, Transportation Sustainability Research Center (TSRC) Co-Director Tim Lipman and Center for Smart Infrastructure's Tracy Becker to learn about innovative research projects and ideas. Read more about the visit

UC Berkeley Robert S. Cornish Endowed Chair of Regional Planning and Lecturer in City & Regional Planning Egon Terplan joins the ranks of ITS Senior Fellows. He is a specialist in regional economic development, land use, transportation, government reform and regional policy and currently writes about and advises on infrastructure, urban revitalization, economic development, region policy, and other topics.
