December 2025

Greetings QGreenland users!

Thanks to everyone who joined or supported Greenland Science Week! It was my first time in Greenland, and I loved learning from conference attendees and meeting our NCEAS partners in person. It was inspiring to connect with QGreenland users, try new foods, and even catch my own Atlantic cod lunch! We came away with great ideas for improvements and data for QGreenland and the QGreenland Data Portal. In this newsletter, we’re sharing materials and highlights from the week.

If you know someone interested in Greenland science, geospatial data, or tools that support polar research and education, please pass along this newsletter.

Best,

Robyn Marowitz, QGreenland Software Developer

Resources from Greenland Science Week

Hearing from so many excited users at Greenland Science Week was inspiring! We loved learning from diverse researchers and community members at the Ilulissat Science Forum and Greenland Science Week, and we were also able to stop and lead a QGreenland workshop in Copenhagen after the energizing time in Greenland. Want to learn more about the QGreenland Data Portal, the value of standardized metadata and federated data programs like DataONE, or simply equip yourself with handy items to share QGreenland with others?

Let’s connect at the American Geophysical Union 2025 meeting in New Orleans, December 15-19! QGreenland team lead Twila Moon will be in New Orleans all week and has a QGreenland-Net poster up on Thursday afternoon. Come share your ideas and experiences with us at poster IN43B-0403!
