Get your groove on and party like it’s 1985 with Electric Avenue, featuring the sounds of New Wave and Radio Pop. The musicians are authentic and meticulously recreate every nuance of our favorite ‘80s songs. Live at Legion concerts are free and begin at 7 pm. Bring a lawn chair, invite your friends and visit food vendors! Presented by the Community Arts Association in Newton County, Discover Covington, and City of Covington. This concert heralds the return of our famous Covington Fuzz Run.

The Fuzz Run: Best GA Race!

Join the Covington Police Department Fuzz Run in a community event for all ages and abilities. Mary Beth's Redbird Run is a fun run for kids ages five and younger. Then stay for the one-mile fun run and the exciting 5K race. The Fuzz Run also features the Friday-Saturday Expo where participants can meet local business owners and learn about their products and services.


Fuzz Run is the primary source of funding for the Police Who Care fund. If tragedy visits the employees of the City of Covington, the PWC fund is there to help, in addition to annual contributions to several local charities. Participants in the Run and See Georgia Grand Prix Series have named the Fuzz Run the “Best Race in Georgia” for four years.

Cinema Saturday: Hispanic Heritage Celebration

Downtown Covington Square



Cinema Saturday features two FREE movies on the Square starting at 6 pm. September is Hispanic Heritage Month and the two featured films are adored by kids: Coco and Selena. Arrive early to visit the stores around town. Enjoy appetizers or dinner before you settle in for the screenings. Bring a blanket and chairs for coziness and comfort.

Chimney Park

A Park with Heart.



Once the overgrown setting of the traces of a historic home behind the library, Chimney Park is a 12-acre park where everyone is invited to play – dog park included. An accessible treehouse opened this past spring that underscores how people of all ages and abilities can reconnect with nature. Chimney Park hosts two annual events— Twilights at Chimney Park in December and the Fairy Festival at Chimney Park on the first Saturday in May. The park also connects to biking and walking trails. Newton County Parks and Recreation and the nonprofit Friends of Newton Parks are stewards of our Covington parks.
