Historic Homes & Fall Colors

In the fall of 1864 when Sherman’s forces marched past this home en route to Savannah, the Usher family clustered on the balcony to watch the procession. The façade features six Doric columns and is capped by the only original “captain’s walk” existent on a local antebellum home. As fall colors fill the trees and grounds, enjoy a self-guided tour of Covington’s historic homes, churches and structures.
