Miracle League All Star Weekend
October 4-6
Miracle League Complex • 12209 Bob Williams Pkwy.
| Every child deserves a chance to play sports, and in Newton County, we make playing baseball a reality for everyone in the spirit of inclusion, teamwork, and joy on the diamond. The Newton County Miracle League team will compete with more than 100 kids from across the nation during the 2024 All-Star Weekend. Community children and volunteers serve as “buddies” to assist the players. This annual celebration is held by the Miracle League of Newton County, marking a special time when amazing players and their families come together. Parents tell stories of how their children insist on playing despite illness, injury or recent hospitalizations. The thrill of playing, the cheers from the stands, and the friendships they develop make the Miracle League Field an oasis for everyone. |

Disc Golf at
Parker's Pasture |
Walk, cycle, picnic, play in the creek, and watch the kids play on the playground – disc golf, too – at Covington Central Park! Central Park is home to our championship disc golf course, Parkers Pasture, named for the farm that once made up the northern half of the park. The course is renowned by disc golfers across the country who have visited and played during its first seasons since opening. Several years ago, the City of Covington completed the acquisition of the remaining 40+ acres for the creation of Covington Central Park, which consists of 214 acres of mature southern forest cooling Dried Indian Creek as it flows through the length of the park from the downtown area.
