PMPnow Program Director attends CDC Overdose Data to Action Conference

The CDC, in conjunction with ASTHO, held the “Overdose Data to Action” (OD2A) meeting June 7-9, 2023 in Atlanta, GA. The attendees at this conference were from the CDA, ASTHO, state departments of public health, local and Indian Territory health departments, Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs as well as other grant recipients from the CDC/ASTHO programs. Jen Erickson, MHA, MS, PMPnow Program Director for the ILPMP attended this meeting. Jen and Jackie DeNardo, RHIA from the ILPMP developed a Poster Presentation – Integration in Illinois. During the scheduled poster session attendees were able to view and discuss the posters with the presenters. In addition to the scheduled session, the posters were displayed in the major walkways for the two day conference where the attendees could view at anytime.

Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) supports jurisdictions in collecting high quality, comprehensive, and timely data on nonfatal and fatal overdoses and in using those data to inform prevention and response efforts. OD2A focuses on understanding and tracking the complex and changing nature of the drug overdose epidemic and highlights the need for seamless integration of data into prevention strategies. Included as part of these grant programs are opportunities such as this conference for awardees to learn from each other and share the successes of their representatives through these grant funds.
