Workday Student Updates

Workday returned on site in mid-November to work towards completion of Workset A in the Architecture and Configuration (A&C) phase.

By completing Workset A, we can continue forward building the informational structiure and testing framework to begin Workset B at the start of the new year. Workset B is the second of four phases of production in the A&C phase.

Our team is working with our consultants to determine the best security roles/access for Academic Affairs. By providing a well-defined structure for security roles and access, we can assign employees appropriately from the jump - before Workday Student officially launches.

We're in the process of vetting our Academic Unit structure for accuracy and wrapping up faculty eligibility in the current workbook this month. We will need to establish a new faculty eligibility process for Workday Student.

The SIS team is putting focus on Change Impact and how best to handle a transition of this scale. Change Management workstreams have been created to support success in several key areas of change, such as Training, Communications, Readiness & Acceptance, and Leadership.

ACC Fac/Staff InfoHub has started providing updates on the project if you would like to check out both Instruction/Academic Affairs and Student Affairs' Workday Student newsletters.

Our website is LIVE and we look forward to using it as a space to share project information and updates with you! Check it out here.

Dean - DC Meeting Session Requests

On December 1st, we met with our first Dean Area to give a live update on the Workday Implementation Project! The Dean of Health Sciences Division opened their monthly Department Chair Meeting to us and we showed up to give a short briefing on the following topics surrounding the Workday Student Modernization Project:

•  Who we are

•  Why we’re doing this

•  What we’ve done

•  What’s next

•  How to reach out to us

If your Dean’s Area would like us to come and present at one of your Department Chair/ Divisional Meetings, please let us know and we will schedule a visit! You can reach out to our Faculty Analysts for scheduling at sisinstruction@austincc.edu.

Tips of the Month

**This section provides valuable tips based on our team's experience in SIS training. The following feature is currently available on our Workday employee site.

 TIP: Viewing Organizational Hierarchy

This tip is already well known among many of our current Instructional employees, but it's an excellent reminder that you can find all ACC faculty, staff and their leadership hierarchy easily within Workday.

If you are searching to contact an administrator for a particular supervisor, or need to know key information about a colleague's role, you can find it by searching a particular person (or within your own personal profile), and clicking on the "Team" icon below "Actions." You can also find this information by entering "View Org Chart" in the search bar.

TIP: Tasks - “Find” v. “Create” v. “View”

Use these keywords to assist you in narrowing down tasks in the Workday search bar. Using the terms: "Find," "Create," and "View" can direct you in your navigation.

Find will help you search for employees, students, and specific reports. Create will allow you to begin a task/ business process. View will allow you to look up key statuses and up-to-date information about a report, task, or function.
