Improve Ventilation at Home

Improving ventilation at home can help protect you and others from getting and spreading COVID-19 and other respiratory viruses.

Here are some ways you can improve ventilation in your home:

  • Bring as much fresh, outdoor air into your home as possible—for example, open windows
  • Consider using a portable air cleaner
  • Use fans to improve air flow

CDC’s interactive tool can help you see how much you can improve ventilation in your home.

Answers to Tough Questions: COVID-19 Emergency Declarations

On Monday, the Biden administration announced that it plans to end the COVID-19 national emergency declarations on May 11, 2023. Health departments, health care providers, community organizations, and others may receive questions about what this means for their constituents. Public health leaders might also be asked for their opinion about whether President Biden’s policy announcement was the right decision.

New Toolkit: When to Take an At-Home COVID-19 Test

At-home COVID-19 testing continues to be one of our best tools to prevent the spread of the virus, alongside getting vaccinated and boosted. As the virus continues to evolve, at-home testing helps you to determine if you have COVID-19 so you can prevent spreading it to others.

PHCC has created a new resource outlining key scenarios and considerations for taking an at-home COVID-19 test and what to do after you get your test results. Use our toolkit, which includes a one-pager and sample social posts in both English and Spanish, to promote the importance of at-home COVID-19 tests.
