Oakland Style, an annual five-day celebration of art, fashion, music, cuisine and culture returns in Oakland October 8 -12
Wednesday, October 8th: The week kicks off with Art Clash, a vibrant art competition featuring six Bay Area artists, live art showcases from the Graffiti Camp for Girls, the Illuminaries, the great Leon Kennedy, and more. Enjoy this immersive art experience, live music from the Yee Section, and shopping at the pop-up gallery while sipping cocktails and tasting delicious bites.
Thursday, October 9th: Check out Mixology + Music: A mixology competition featuring twelve of Oakland’s hottest restaurants and bars as they create their version of an Oakland Style cocktail made with Coramino tequila. Taste your way through the event, vote for your favorite and enjoy sips, bites, music mixed by DJ Christie, and fun with MC Liam Mayclem -- the Bay Area Foodie Chap.
Friday, October 10th: Friday, October 10th: A busy Friday in The Town brings High Tea + High Style at the Claremont Resort & Club featuring three Oakland designers: Dorian Webb, Lesley Evers, and Lee Rickie. Later, join Oakland author Shonda Scott for her "Give Me a Year" book launch.
Saturday, October 11th: Oakland Art Murmur presents Arts Alive to celebrate the bold and diverse creativity of Oakland. Join art tours that bring you inside The Town's most vibrant art spaces. Drop into Creative Growth’s fashion lab and create something you can’t wait to wear, and check out the Sole Space Art of Sneakers. At night don’t miss the LGBTQ Designer Fashion Show at Fluid 510!
Sunday, October 12th: Cuisine + Couture featuring the talented students from Oakland School for the Arts (OSA) as they present their innovative designs inspired by the cuisine and culture of Oakland’s diverse culinary scene. Eleven chefs from the #1 best food city in the U.S. have teamed up with OSA students for this incredible, creative event. Later that afternoon join Black Cultural Zone for The Town's Threads: A Living Runway -- a celebration of East Oakland's culture and style.
