How are your donations used at the Veterans Healing Farm?
2023 saw remarkable, record-setting growth at the Farm. Our 2nd Annual Veterans Resource Fair included 35 Veteran-centered organizations and over 700 attendees. The Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall, and 9/11 Memorial had 4,000 visitors attend to honor those who gave all for our freedoms. This year we ran 49 workshops for over 500 participants including equine therapy, canine therapy, music therapy, neurofeedback therapy, vegetable canning, floral arrangements, art classes, jam making, mushroom growing, medicinal herbs, as well as our second season of offering suicide prevention classes to the entire community. Our new Tomato Team grew 115 different varieties of tomatoes with a public tasting (Tomatopalooza, WNC) at The Buzz in downtown Hendersonville. We served breakfast twice to the outgoing Blue Ridge Honor Flight honorees and grew/distributed over 5,000 lbs. of produce at the Charles George VA, Safelight Women's Shelter, IAM Food Pantry, the Rescue Mission, the Storehouse, and the Veterans Restoration Quarters. The Bee Squad took wonderful care of our ladies and harvested 8 gallons of honey. Our Medicinal Herb Squad grew and processed 68 different medicinal plants, and our Veteran volunteer membership grew by 110% to 215. We also had a record number of community organization (23) joining the Farm.
As we move into 2024, to sustain our mission we need your help.
We are 100% donation funded and understand how tight finances are these days. Whether it's a one-time donation, or a monthly donation, we appreciate every dollar you give to help our Veterans and their families. Please click the button below to donate today. Thank you!
