Homecoming Parade & Games Tomorrow!

This afternoon, we celebrate our fall sport student-athletes with a Pep Rally. Tomorrow, Saturday, September 16 is Game Day! Many thanks to our Student Council, Football and Cheer Coordinators, Homecoming Committee, and the Men's Club for working to make this a memorable weekend of school spirit.

PARADE - Kick-offs at 10:15am

The game day activities start with a car parade of our football and cheer athletes traveling through the neighborhood. Athletes and families should meet in the St. Barnabas parking lot at 9:15am to decorate cars.

Check out the route, and come cheer on the Buckeyes. The parade will depart the lot at 10:15am. If you have a St. Barnabas flag, make sure to hang it proudly this weekend!

FOOTBALL GAMES - begin at 12pm, Beverly Park

The Buckeyes take on Most Holy Redeemer at Beverly Park. The 4th grade game kicks off at 12pm, JV at 1:30pm, and Varsity at 3pm. We are so proud of this fantastic group of athletes.

VOLUNTEERS

The Men's Club is in need of volunteers to help with food service in one-hour shifts throughout the day. If you are available to help, please sign up HERE

HMH/Savvas Testing Next Week

We are so proud of the students for their dedication to the iReady Diagnostic testing they completed this week. Next week, students in grades K - 8 will take the Savvas and HMH assessments. These assessments are curriculum-based and aligned with the common core standards. Each student is tested on a grade-specific set of common-core skills. Like the iReady diagnostic, students will take the Math portion on Monday and Tuesday and the ELA portion on Wednesday and Thursday.

Upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences

Conferences will be held on Wednesday, October 4, from 4pm - 7pm and Thursday, October 5, from 1pm - 6pm. Parents/guardians are welcome to schedule a meeting with up to two teachers per child. Students in grades 6-8 are highly encouraged to attend conferences with their parents/guardians. A scheduling link will be shared next week with all families.

Lunch Volunteers

Last week, we introduced the Lunch Duty Volunteer Schedule. Volunteering for Lunch Duty is a great way to experience time with the students and is also a help to our teachers and administrators. Lunch in the Main Building is coordinated in three different periods throughout the day: Grades 6-8, Grades 3-5, and Grades K-2. Volunteering at the preschool is coordinated directly through the PK teachers. Volunteer slots will be provided two weeks at a time and linked in School News. Thank you for your help!

2nd Grade and 8th Grade Sacraments

Attached are two helpful calendar overviews of the Sacramental Events for our 2nd and 8th-grade students. Please feel free to contact Mr. Patrick McGowan, Director of Faith Formation, pmcgowan@stbarnabasparish.org with any questions.
