Getting to your first sale!
1. Qualify your client. Understand who is traveling and where they want to go, as well as the type of experience they are looking for.
2. Before hanging up. Assure them the value of you—that you are a real person and know them better than any website or call center. You will do the research and get them the best vacation for their money spent!
3. Do the work. Research the partner that would best fit their needs and deliver 2-3 quotes at varying price points. When presenting the quotes, be sure to sell value, not price. Include upselling features and travel insurance.
4. Listen. Listen to your client, refine the quote if needed, and follow up right away. Be sure to include pictures and reviews.
5. Confirm. Confirm what they need: credit card information, travel documents, cancellation policy and payment schedule, and so on.
Bonus tip: Create excitement! Make sure your client won’t have buyer’s remorse. Keep them excited by using a countdown with pictures of their future vacation on their social media. These touches can turn a single sale into a repeat client for many trips to come!
