GOED is excited to announce the hiring of Alexandra "Lexie" Warejcka, the new Marketing Director. With nearly eight years of experience with the State of South Dakota, Lexie combines her marketing skills with a passion for enhancing the state's economic landscape and supporting local initiatives.

Growing up in the state, she graduated from Mt. Vernon High School and earned her degree from Dakota Wesleyan University. Lexie and her family now live in Platte.

In her spare time, Lexie enjoys running, aiming to complete a half marathon in every state; she has already finished races in 11 states.

Roughly halfway between Mitchell and Sioux Falls, this town of over 1,300 is just off the interstate and has the best of both worlds between opportunity and small-town charm. 

With a strong farming community, land for a new housing development, and new community center with city offices and an event center on the way, economic development in this town isn't slowing down anytime soon.

GOED's Partner Relations Reps have been visiting communities that received funding. As the dollars are being implemented, we have been taking notes and hearing great feedback.

"Through our partnership with GOED, Platte Development Corporation and Panther Cubs Academy have successfully been able to grow our after-school program with tools that have helped increase revenue and capacity after operating at a $60,000 deficit." says Colette Mesman, Executive Director at Platte Development Corp.
