The Living Desert Alliance is pleased to announce a collaborative effort led by the Pima County Democratic Party (PCDP) to collect food and health items throughout Pima County for families struggling to put food on the table on a regular basis.
Despite being the richest country in the world, 1 in 8 people in our nation depends on outside assistance to have enough to eat every day? It is highly probable that someone you know is not getting the food they need. This is an absolute travesty!
PCDP, along with Living Desert Alliance, Arizona List, Save Our Schools (S.O.S.), Tucson Food Share, and AFGE Local 2391, have said, “Not on our watch!”
To address this critical need, we are asking the community to donate nonperishable food in sturdy packaging, cans, glass, and plastic jars/bottles/jugs. Collection begins today and runs through Nov. 21st.
Bring your items to Arizona List, 2720 E. Broadway, Tucson, Mon through Friday, 10am - 2pm. Individuals and organizations wishing to make monetary donations can donate to Tucson Food Share, 2500 N Stone Ave, Tucson AZ.
On November 23rd, join a celebration at St. Francis in the Foothills United Methodist Church at 4625 E River Rd., from 9 am to 11:30 am. Then, following the collections, from noon to 1:00 pm there will be a small rally to thank all our volunteers, partners and contributors. There will be several surprise guests as well!
Please share this information with your family, friends and others to help those most in need in our community. Together we can make a difference.
Questions should be directed to Tim Kosse, PCDP First Vice Chair.
