Fort Smallwood Park

Arrival: When you arrive, please let the attendant at the entrance gate know you are there to attend River Days. There are no park fees. As you enter the park, please drive slowly and watch out for people and wildlife. Guests can pick up their boat ride tickets starting at 10:45 am, and must have their full party on-site.
Parking: Free parking is available onsite. Carpooling is encouraged as we anticipate high attendance for this event. Please follow staff instructions as they will direct you to available parking. County shuttles will be available to pick up and drop off guests at all parking lots. They will run from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm in a continuous loop around the park to the festival and waterfront areas.
Event Attractions and Activities: The festival will feature Watermark Miss Anne boat rides, live music from The Groove Spot Band & Show, face painting by A Girl and a Brush and Designs by Jenn, food trucks, crafts, games, and exhibitors. Exhibitor tables will be hosted by local nonprofit organizations, environmental groups, and county agencies. The Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks will also offer free kayak lessons. Please visit the Welcome Tent near the front of the festival to inquire about kayak lesson times and registration.
Boat Rides: Boat rides are free, but capacity is limited, and tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis to festival attendees. Guests can pick up boat ride tickets 30 minutes before each ride. Please have your full party on-site. The boat ride ticket table will be located near the dock. Food: A variety of food trucks will be at the festival with food and drink available for purchase - Citrus Bros. Shaved Ice, Witt's BBQ, Between the Buns LLC, Pancake Peeps, and Lola's Botanas.
What To Bring: This event will take place outdoors. We recommend that you wear closed-toe shoes and dress appropriately for warm, sunny weather. Bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and bug spray.
Pets: Fort Smallwood Park allows dogs on the southernmost section of the swimming beach only. Dogs must be leashed at the beach and under the owner's control.
Prohibited: Smoking, alcoholic beverages, illegal substances, and weapons of any kind are all prohibited.
Weather: This event is rain or shine. In the event of severe weather, we will make a decision whether or not to cancel by 8:00 am on September 13. Please watch for an email from us and check AACounty.Org/RiverDays for updates.
