Welcome to Dr. Tuesda Evans!

Tuesda Evans has a new role but her dedication to meaningful teaching and learning practices remains consistent! As the inaugural Director of Faculty Development and Instruction, she works with faculty, staff and administrators to provide strategic and collaborative support on matters of teaching.

Whether you’ve already worked with Tuesda Evans or would like to in the near future, feel free to reach out and welcome her to the Iwasaki Library! In her new role, she is responsible for creating and managing programming that drives pedagogical innovation and learning across Emerson’s three campus sites, portfolio of global programs and partnerships and she oversees the Library’s instructional program. You can schedule 1:1 consultations with her about all things pedagogy, tapping into students’ intellectual and creative curiosity and cultivating learning environments where students are better able to learn with and from each other.

We’re excited to have her as a part of the Library and Learning team!

Do Our Goals Align With Yours?

Did you know, the School Librarians have been working with OAA to develop SLOs for Information Literacy?

Students will:

  • Critically evaluate information resources, taking into account the origins, context, and authority of materials, while actively seeking diverse perspectives;
  • Analyze the ethical, legal, and social implications of intellectual property and information privilege, including their own participation in information systems;
  • Demonstrate research persistence and adaptability to engage with increasingly complex and self-driven research questions; and,
  • Embrace their own agency as researchers and creators who can contribute to the ongoing exchange of ideas within the classroom, community, and professional world.

Their aim is to make Information Literacy a *hot* topic that enhances teaching and learning experiences! Mapping their collaborations with academic departments with an eye towards engagement, efficacy, efficiency and excellence is an opportunity to bring everyone to the table. Stay tuned!
