Milwaukee Common Council forms new anti-illegal dumping committee | Read more here!

This effort is part of a UEDA technical assistance project that supports a network of City of Milwaukee Community Organizers. They worked with Thrive Service Learning MKE and City departments over the past 3 years to identify & advocate for potential solutions. One outcome was the launch of this committee!

Baldwin Secures Over $32 Million for Southeast Wisconsin Two of our members are included in the recently passed bipartisan federal funding bill. Acts Housing received $1 million to support affordable housing acquisition, and Hmong Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce secured $1.687 million for business development programming! Read more HERE.


$500,000 Grant Will Train Two Affordable Milwaukee Housing Developers

By training the next generation of leaders behind it. The Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago, in partnership with Spring Bank, awarded $250,000 each to AK Development and Milwaukee Development Corporation through its Community First Developer Program.

Rather than funding construction, the grants support paid internships and fellowships that provide hands-on experience in affordable housing development. Read more HERE.


The VIA CDC Home Improvement Matching Grant (HIMG) is now OPEN!

If you’re a homeowner in Silver City, Burnham Park, Layton Park, or Clarke Square, you may qualify for up to $5,000 in reimbursement for home repairs that improve health, safety, and home value. VIA CDC will reimburse 50% of eligible project costs. Apply online.

With a background in manufacturing and venture capital, Miller says his focus is strengthening Wisconsin’s manufacturing base while investing in emerging technologies like data centers. This statewide event brings together developers, lenders, architects, public officials, and community leaders to advance safe, affordable housing across Wisconsin. Now accepting applications for its Spring/Summer 2026 Environmental Arts Internship. Milwaukee high school students can earn $11/hour while building career skills and creating environmentally focused art. The internship runs April–August 2026 on Saturdays. Apply by March 9.


Milwaukee Public Library for Entrepreneur-in-Residence Proposal Training.

Deadline: March 21, 2026 at 11:59 PM

Innovative, community-focused entrepreneurs are invited to apply for a six-week Entrepreneur-in-Residence program at the Milwaukee Public Library. Selected residents will lead workshops and offer one-on-one coaching to support aspiring and early-stage entrepreneurs in Milwaukee. Experienced and creative individuals are especially encouraged to apply.
