USDA and StatsCan Update 2026 Barley Acreage Estimates | StatsCan and USDA’s June 30 acreage updates brought new focus to the 2026 barley outlook. Canadian barley acres were revised higher than the early estimate and 9% above last year, though still below the five-year average. Even with more acres, production could be lower than 2025 if yields return closer to normal after last year’s record levels. In the US, barley acreage remains historically low despite a modest increase, while corn acres were largely unchanged from March.
