The Jimenez Family discovered Saint Mary School while researching classical Catholic education, a model they had long admired but assumed was unavailable locally. After learning the school had been on this journey for four years, they visited and were immediately struck by its mission-driven community and emphasis on truth, beauty, and human flourishing through faith. “We were just so struck at how they communicated the vision of a classical Catholic approach,” Manuel Jimenez shared, noting the school’s focus on “helping kids to understand who they are through their faith.” Over the summer, they enrolled their three sons—twins in 7th grade and one in 8th—seeing it as an unmissable opportunity for their formation.
Despite joining late in their elementary years, the boys adjusted remarkably well, embraced by a welcoming community that made them feel at home from day one. Manuel highlight the calm, focused learning environment—marked by Latin, pen-and-paper work, and minimal technology—and note their sons’ growing curiosity and ease in asking big questions. “They’re asking big questions and they really feel at ease asking them,” Manny observed, “and there is a level of comfort and sort of curiosity… that’s just so wonderful to see.” Middle school remains developmentally challenging, yet the boys exhibit a rare belonging and intellectual engagement that stands out.
Central to their experience are the school’s sacramental rhythms: weekly Mass, monthly confession, and traditions like the 8th-grade pin ceremony, which felt authentic rather than performative. “It was such a beautiful Mass,” Manny reflected, “but it was so clear that this wasn’t something that was just thrown together… it’s what they do, it’s who they are.” My wife, Jennifer, and I truly value how these practices are woven naturally into daily life, shaping the boys’ habits and identity, and we look forward to deeper involvement in the school’s rich liturgical and communal traditions.
