SEPTEMBER 2025

A WORD FROM THE DIRECTOR GENERAL

Vanguard School is an educational institution where Expertise, Collaboration, and Innovation are at the heart of its practices and DNA...

Here, everyone involved has kindness tattooed on their hearts. Although this spirit animates the vast majority of our 3,000 stakeholders (parents, staff members, and students), there are, of course, times when communication is not perfect.

Let's all keep in mind that the most direct way to resolve a dispute will always be to talk to the person concerned. If necessary, it is always possible to turn to a teacher, to the principal... and then to use the complaint process available on our website. However, let's respect the steps! Two people who take the time to talk to each other often manage to understand each other.

Finally, while it is essential to report what is wrong, let's not forget to highlight what is going well. Our “Good Deedsalso deserve to be shared on our website. It's a great way to recognize and encourage all our education experts...

PROOF OF QUEBEC RESIDENCY - NEW PARENTS

The Ministry of Education requires us to verify certain supporting documents to certify the Quebec residence of all newly enrolled students. This verification is required only once, when changing schools.

We plan to carry out this verification during the first parent-teacher meeting at the end of September.

OFFICIAL DECLARATION DAY (MEQ) - SEPTEMBER 30th

Tuesday, September 30, will be the Official Declaration Day for all schools in Quebec. This process serves to confirm enrollment and validate attendance for each student at our school in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Education.

Therefore, we ask for your cooperation in avoiding, as much as possible, any absences or tardiness on this day. In the event of an absence, the parents concerned will receive a form to sign in the following days certifying their child's attendance at our school. The student must return the form to the secretary's office in their sector as soon as possible.

The Vanguard Foundation finances projects and initiatives that go beyond the School's regular budget. We support Vanguard School projects in four philanthropic areas:

  1. Assistance to students from low-income families, to guarantee financial support for school fees, transportation, meals, and other expenses.
  2. Developing and maintaining the Vanguard School's infrastructure to provide our students with a learning environment tailored to their needs.
  3. Funding innovative educational projects to support the educational success of students with learning difficulties and offer them tailored solutions.
  4. Access to arts and culture through the Samira Gaudreau Fund.
