February 2026

A WORD FROM THE DIRECTOR GENERAL

Dear parents/ Legal Guardians,

When we believe in ourselves, a whole world of possibilities opens up before us... So when significant adults believe in a young person, they give them the wings they need to fly.

Several adults, including you, have helped them believe in themselves. You have helped them discover their beautiful colors and supported them so that they can increasingly face the various obstacles that life may put in their path.

If any of these adults are part of our educational community, I sincerely invite you to take advantage of Stay in School Week and Staff Appreciation Week to thank them, in the simplest way possible, by email, on our website in the “Good Deeds” section, or on our Facebook page. The few minutes you take to write a short message, share a testimonial, or show your appreciation will have a big impact on these adults, who also need to believe in themselves and feel that their efforts matter...

Annie Lamarre

Director General

SCHOOL PERSEVERANCE DAYS

A SECOND BREAK IN NOVEMBER 2026

Since the well-being of children and adults alike is at the heart of our decisions, we are currently considering the possibility of adding a second week of break to the school calendar. This break would take place in November, providing an additional mid-fall break that could promote rest, reduce fatigue, support motivation, and contribute to a better life balance for all.

This change, which is being considered for the next school year (2026-2027), would mean that school would start a few days earlier to comply with the number of school days specified in the educational program.

Before making this decision, we would like to hear your thoughts on adding a second spring break week in November to the school calendar, even if it means starting the school year a week earlier.

What do you think about a 2nd break in November ?

In addition to the survey, if you would like to share your comments on this proposal with us, please email us. We look forward to hearing from you.

THE CAFETERIA WILL BE CLOSED FROM FEBRUARY 2 TO 6

From February 2 to 6, high school students will be taking exams, so the cafeteria will not be providing service during this period. Please plan your child's meals accordingly.

A RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL AT VANGUARD

For the past two years, our school has been operating as a residential school in partnership with the Faculty of Education at the University of Montreal.

This project has enabled 40 future special education teachers to receive practical, integrated, and deeply human training, accompanied by experienced teachers.

Concrete results:

  • Better transfer between theory and practice
  • Increased confidence and sense of effectiveness
  • Enhanced professional support and collaboration
  • A partnership recognized as a model
  • Several residents have continued their studies or even obtained a position at the school.

Thank you to the students, staff members, and our university partners for their commitment to the next generation of educators.

RECRUITMENT ON SOCIAL MEDIA- SPVM

In recent months, the Montreal Police Service (SPVM) has noticed an increase in malicious offers made to young people on social media. Posts on social media and encrypted messaging apps encourage them to commit criminal acts in exchange for money.

Let's work together to raise awareness and protect our young people.

GUIDES FOR PARENTS— PREPARATION TO MINISTRY EXAMS

We are sharing with you the guides for parents, which provide information on the structure and conduct of the tests prescribed by the Minister of Education in Elementary and High school. They also include examples from tests administered in previous years.
