ALUMNI NEWSLETTER, FEBRUARY 2025

Fall in Love with USM (Again!)

Thanks to Valentine’s Day, February is often associated with feelings of love—and maybe an overwhelming sweet tooth. It’s also a great moment to show appreciation for the people and places that have shaped us.

For most of us, USM is a big part of our story. Whether we’ve stayed close to campus like the new USM Foundation President & CEO, Corey Hascall ‘99, or ventured far beyond Maine, we all carry a piece of that experience with us. And while time and distance may seem like barriers to involvement, those of us on the Alumni Engagement Council would respectfully disagree!

Right now, USM is in an exciting era of transformation. With the completion of the McGoldrick Center, Portland Commons, and the upcoming opening of the Crewe Center for the Arts, the University is growing in remarkable ways. I saw it firsthand during a holiday visit from Connecticut—the spirit of USM is alive and thriving.

As the University we know and love continues to evolve, alumni play a crucial role in its success. Whether you're giving back with a gift, cheering on the Huskies at a game, or sharing your feedback through our recent alumni survey using your unique link: Survey link

Your involvement makes our community stronger. By taking the survey, you’ll help improve how USM connects with its alumni—and you’ll be entered to win a $250 Visa gift card! And as we help to improve USM, the value of our hard-earned degrees will continue to see a huge return on investment.

So this February, let’s fall back in love with USM. Connect with us online, get involved where you can, and help us ensure the USM legacy lives on for future generations of Huskies.

With appreciation,

Spencer R McBreairty ‘14
