Tooele Happenings

Tooele County supports local kids at Pathways

We’re proud to share that our Children’s Program at Pathways, South Valley Services’ domestic violence shelter in Tooele, has been awarded funding through the Social Services Block Grant from Tooele County. This vital support allows us to continue serving children who have experienced domestic violence by providing a safe, nurturing environment where they can heal and grow.

Our Children’s Program includes weekly one-on-one meetings with a dedicated children’s advocate who provides safety planning, advocacy, and age-appropriate skill building around healthy relationships, emotional regulation, and communication. We also offer a weekly Kids Club, engaging summer programming, and a playroom thoughtfully designed to support children of all ages.

Thank you, Tooele County, for your support. Families at Pathways have access to more than just shelter — they gain the tools and support to build safer, healthier futures.

Pathways selected for Utah Pollinator Habitat Program

We’re excited to share that Pathways, South Valley Services’ domestic violence shelter in Tooele, has been selected as a recipient of 240 native Utah plants through the Utah Pollinator Habitat Program. This three-year initiative will support our 2025 Yard Revitalization Project, helping us transform our outdoor space into a peaceful, healing sanctuary for survivors and their families.

Beyond our backyard, this program contributes to increasing pollinator habitats across the state — an essential step in preserving Utah’s natural ecosystems. The program is made possible through funding from House Bills 224 and 251, passed by the Utah State Legislature.

Learn more about the program at the Utah Pollinator Habitat Program website.
