Tooele Happenings

This past weekend, our Shelter Manager and a member of our Speakers Bureau had the privilege of presenting on domestic violence at the GFWC Ladies Community Club of Tooele's fall conference in Park City. We are deeply grateful to the event organizers for welcoming us, giving our Speakers’ Bureau the chance to share with the community, and for holding a donation drive to support survivors in our care. Your generosity not only helps meet urgent needs but also ensures that more voices are heard in the fight to end domestic violence.

The event marked an exciting moment as we launched our new Speakers Bureau—an initiative that brings powerful voices into the community to raise awareness, challenge misconceptions, and inspire action.

This month, native Utah plants are being planted at our Pathways Shelter in Tooele as part of the Utah Pollinator Habitat Program. These plants will be the foundation of our Yard Revitalization Project, creating a peaceful, healing sanctuary for survivors and their families while supporting pollinator habitats across Utah.

We’re inspired by the way our community is coming together to raise awareness. Recently, GFWC Ladies Community Club of Tooele put up ribbons across Tooele, and many local businesses and community members joined in by displaying ribbons of their own.

Together, we can fight domestic violence by hanging purple ribbons at your location or even adopting a park to decorate. Share your photos on social media using #tcdvawareness and email LCCT@gfwcutah.org to be added to the support list!

Join the Ladies Community Club of Tooele (GFWC) in solidarity and change your profile photo to this until the 27th.
