Common Harley-Davidson® Problems Riders Ignore Until They Get Expensive

Owning a Harley-Davidson® or American-made V-Twin is about more than getting from point A to point B. These machines are built to be ridden, enjoyed, and kept on the road. But like anything mechanical, small issues can turn into bigger and more expensive repairs when they get ignored for too long.

A lot of riders put off service because the bike is still running, the noise does not seem that bad, or the problem only shows up once in a while. The truth is, those early warning signs are often your chance to fix something before it becomes a much larger problem.

Gettysburg Bike Week is coming up July 9–12, 2026, at the PA Barn Resort in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The weekend brings together riders from across the region for live music, vendors, bike shows, stunt shows, poker runs, and plenty of motorcycle action.

The 2nd Annual Miles for Mercy Poker Run Benefiting Frederick Health Hospice is set for Saturday, October 17, 2026, with a rain date of Saturday, October 24, 2026.

Hosted by American Iron Speed-n-Cycle and presented by Malloy Law Offices, this AMA-sanctioned ride helps raise money for Frederick Health Hospice.

Registration opens at American Iron Speed-n-Cycle from 11 AM–12:30 PM. Riders will make their own route to participating stops, including Red Shedman, Rosie Cheeks Distillery, and The Greenhouse Café, before ending at Lewistown Social Club. Final scorecards are due by 5 PM.

Stick around after the run for Bike Night at Lewistown Social Club from 4–7:30 PM featuring DJ Thumper, food, silent auction, 50/50, sponsor tables, and the K & K Automotive Car & Motorcycle Show. Admission is included for poker run participants. Not riding in the poker run? Come out for Bike Night and the car show for $10 at the door.

The Best Hand winner will take home $500 cash, sponsored by 1st Call Garage Doors & Openers.
