Reminder for Downtown Bracebridge Businesses: Winter Sidewalks & Storefronts

  • Sidewalks must always maintain at least 5 feet of unobstructed pedestrian space.
  • Retail displays, decorative items, awnings, and sidewalk sales must be removed or kept clear during snow removal operations and should not impede winter maintenance.
  • All entranceways, exits, door swing areas, and walkways must be kept free of snow and ice to maintain safe access for customers.
  • Snow and ice must be safely removed from roofs and awnings, and must not fall onto adjacent sidewalks or public areas.
  • Downspouts and drainage should not discharge onto sidewalks where ice may form.
  • These requirements help keep our downtown safe and accessible for residents, visitors, and winter maintenance crews.
