In addition to our monthly newsletter, which is designed to be a centralised tool for most of the messages we wish to share with you, we also want to strengthen our collaboration with you this year. We recognize that the nature of our school does not allow for the same level of closeness that your neighborhood school might offer, so we believe it is essential to create more opportunities to build relationships and exchange ideas with you.
So please take the time to read our newsletter each month. Throughout the year, we’ll be offering various training and informational activities, details of which will be sent to you. The better we get to know one another, the better we’ll work together, and the more your child will benefit.
I would also like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that, should a dispute arise between you and the School (which can always happen), the quickest path to a resolution remains direct dialogue between the key parties involved. We therefore encourage you to first encourage your child—when they can do so—to speak with the person involved. If necessary, we then recommend that you contact the staff member in question yourself, and then the administration of your child’s program. If these steps do not resolve the situation and you feel that your rights or those of your child have still not been respected, the complaint process available on our website is, of course, at your disposal.
Please note that disagreeing with a decision does not, in and of itself, constitute grounds for a complaint. The school and the home each have their own responsibilities and operating rules, which may differ; this is why dialogue is so important. Two people who take the time to talk to each other often manage to understand one another better and reach an agreement, whereas involving too many intermediaries can sometimes complicate discussions and unnecessarily hinder the search for solutions. So… let’s talk!
Finally, let’s not forget to highlight the positive as well. There are plenty of them! Our good deeds also deserve to be recognized. So please feel free to do so directly on our website. It’s a wonderful way to recognize and encourage all our education experts who support your children every day… Rest assured that your kind words will reach them!

INFO - FINANCIAL STATEMENT | |
The account statements for the 2026–2027 school year are now up to date and available on the portal. The account statements include the following fees:
1. 2026–2027 School Fees:
Elementary School: $1,091 (including lunch supervision for all 180 school days)
High School: $650
These amounts are set in accordance with the 2026–2027 educational services contract and in accordance with the applicable rules regarding free education, particularly with regard to the services and materials that must be provided to students at no cost.
School transportation fees (based on enrollment):
1 child: $575
2 children: $400
3 children: $295
3. Non-agreement fee ($160)
This amount is chargeable only to students without an extraterritorial agreement with a school board.
4. Childcare and Tutoring Fees:
These fees will be added progressively, based on the services your child receives, and are payable upon receipt of the invoice.
PAYMENT TERMS:
- 50% at the start of the school year (no later than September 1, 2026)
- 50% before February 1, 2027
This does not apply to parents with an agreement with the financial services department. However, they must adhere to their payment plan. Please note that any outstanding balance as of February 2, 2027, will be subject to late fees, as specified in the educational services contract. Accepted payment methods are check and bank transfer.

To arrange tutoring services for your child, please complete the form below and provide all requested information. We will process your request as soon as possible once we have verified the availability of a tutor who meets your needs. Please note that the fee for this service is $116 per hour.
Please also note that all teachers offer free help sessions to students on a weekly basis. Feel free to ask for more information at the parent-teacher meeting

CAFETERIA - STARTING SEPTEMBER 9 | |
The cafeteria’s new platform is now up and running. The old platform will therefore no longer be operational. If you wish, you can create a new account. Your previous balance, if any, will be transferred to your school account statement—either as a credit or as an invoice if you have an outstanding balance.
CREATE AN ACCOUNT
For parents wishing to create an account for their child, you’ll need your child’s 7-digit student ID number, which you can find on the Coba portal and which also matches your child’s student ID card number. This account will remain valid for the duration of your child’s enrollment at Vanguard School
CAFETERIA SERVICE
Parents can deposit funds into their child’s account via our new online platform. Meals are deducted when the child checks out at the cafeteria. Students use their student ID card when checking out. It is also possible to pay directly at the cafeteria counter in cash, by credit card, or by debit card.
New for elementary school: Elementary students will pick up their meals directly at the cafeteria. Therefore, there is no longer a pre-order system for meals.

The parent meeting for elementary and high schools will take place on September 10 at 6:30 p.m. Here are the meeting details:
In person for:
- Elementary school
- Secondaire 1.1 and 1.2
- Découverte class
- Interval class
- High School Grade 7
Online for:
- Secondaire 2 to 5
- English High School Grades 8 –11
For more details about the high school meeting, please refer to the letter you received from your child’s sector Secretary. For elementary school, the meeting will take place in your child’s classroom.
| PROOF OF QUEBEC RESIDENCY - NEW PARENTS | |
The Ministry of Education requires us to verify certain supporting documents to certify the Quebec residence of all newly enrolled students. We therefore ask that you bring your child's original birth certificate as well as two forms of identification from among those listed in the list of required documents.
This verification is required only once, when changing schools.
We plan to carry out this verification during the first parent-teacher meeting on September 10th.
| SUBMISSION AND ARCHIVING OF EXTERNAL SPECIALISTS REPORTS | |
Reports and evaluations prepared by external specialists (neuropsychologists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, psychoeducators, physicians, etc.) are valuable tools for our pedagogical and psychosocial teams to offer personalized and tailored support for your child,
To guarantee rigorous, optimal, and secure handling of this confidential data, please take note of the following procedures:
1. Centralized Transmission of Documents
To submit a new report or an update, we ask that you exclusively use the following email address: 📧 documents@vanguardquebec.qc.ca.
Important Note: You no longer need to send these documents to teachers, secretarial staff, or school administration. The Director of the Complementary Services (Direction des services complémentaires) will process your email to forward the relevant information to the practitioners directly monitoring your child and ensure its confidential archiving.
2. Legal Responsibility and Retention of Originals
To avoid any misunderstanding, we remind you that the school acts as a consultant regarding these documents and is in no way their custodian or legally responsible for them. The file kept at the school is strictly reserved for internal and administrative use to facilitate the implementation of appropriate services to meet your child's needs.

Keep your originals: It is essential to carefully keep the original copies of all assessments in your personal records.

Management of duplicate requests: To respect confidentiality and streamline administrative management, the school will no longer respond to requests for the reissuance or transmission of copies of these reports to parents or students.

Requesting documents: If you require a copy for another specialist or an external process, we invite you to contact the professional or clinic that authored the initial report directly.

| | OFFICIAL DECLARATION DAY (MEQ) - SEPTEMBER 30th | | |
Wednesday, September 30, will be the Official Declaration Day for all schools in Quebec. This process serves to confirm enrollment and validate attendance for each student at our school in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Education.
Therefore, we ask for your cooperation in avoiding, as much as possible, any absences or tardiness on this day. In the event of an absence, the parents concerned will receive a form to sign in the following days certifying their child's attendance at our school. The student must return the form to the secretary's office in their sector as soon as possible.

PEDAGOGICAL DAYS
The daycare service will offer low-cost activity days on pedagogical days. Please note that school transportation is never provided on these days.

PEDAGOGICAL AFTERNOONS
Once again this year, we are continuing our monthly social afternoons. These special moments allow students to build relationships, develop a sense of belonging to the school, and socialize in a supportive environment. Each grade level will be invited to participate in collaborative activities inspired by our monthly themes. As in previous years, these activities are organized by the daycare team.
To that end, we’re sharing our parent information sheet on well-being with you.

CLOTHES TO BE RECYCLED
The daycare team is actively looking for old shirts (men’s or women’s, regardless of size or condition) to use as painting aprons and for our arts-and-crafts projects with the children. If you have any worn-out, stained, or simply neglected shirts sitting at the back of your closet, don’t throw them away!
